About

This online (b)log collects all the necessary information to report my activities, research and evolution while studying a BA (Hons) Photography degree with The Open College of Arts.

Digital Film production is the first of the 3no. Level 1 courses required. I begun this course in November 2013 and ended it in 2015.

At the moment I am with my second course, Expressing your Vision (EyV), which I begun in November 2015.

If you are studying with OCA, or if you are just interested in the blog and the subjects, please feel free to comment and collaborate with the blog, I'll really appreciate your input and opinion.

Note that this blog is a form of self expression and a learning tool, all opinions and ideas expressed on it are part of my own learning process.

Many thanks,

Maria

EXPRESSING YOUR VISION - Learning Outcomes

It is recommended to annotate the learning outcomes in the learning log to keep the focus of the course. I should remember through the course that the aims are to:

    • begin using technical and visual skills appropriately
    • produce practical work which uses the above understanding and demonstrate skills of personal engagement, enquiry, imagination and experimentation
    • develop my understanding of contemporary and historical approaches to photography
    • introduce critical analysis and self-appraisal of ideas, processes and outcomes.

On successful completion I'll be able to:

    • create images that demonstrate a practical and conceptual understanding of how to apply techniques and visual skills
    • show initial ability in translating ideas into personal imagery
    • conduct a procedure of research, development and production in relation to the course themes
    • begin to reflect on the various levels of meaning in your own and others' photography.

DIGITAL FILM PRODUCTION - Learning Outcomes
    • demonstrate an ability to use creative visual techniques to achieve an intended meaning, atmosphere and mood in a moving image sequence
    • demonstrate a basic understanding of how audio can enhance visual content
    • demonstrate an understanding of the basics of narrative development, rhythm and pace
    • reflect perceptively on my own learning experience and demonstrate the ability to continue this approach to learning independently.
